Grenache is the workhorse variety of the South of France making up the majority of plantings in the famous appellations of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, and Vacqueyras. While these examples are rich, complex, and age-worthy, there is also a more delicate and youthful expression of Grenache, especially when it is grown at higher elevations. The Chaudière brothers seek to capture this more aromatic and refreshing style of Grenache with Le Paradou, a red-fruited Grenache fermented and aged in concrete to preserve its aromatic charms and crunchy fruit flavors.
